Someone made the following comment on my YouTube channel:

"I read your blog and I've been meaning to read your books.  I keep in mind the things you teach and try to apply what I feel would help me.  Thank you and may God bless you and your loved ones."

Thank you for reading my blog and for your gesture. I do not mean to be as abrasive as this will seem, but the content is important for you and anyone who would say the same.

"I read your blog and I've been meaning to read your books."

If you have found only slight value in what you've read, God expects you to apply only slight expense in reading more. If you have found great value in what you've read, God expects you to apply great expense in reading more.

41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. (Matthew 10)

For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. (Matthew 13:12)

A reflection on that verse:
Whoever lives up to what he has received will receive more until there is no more room to receive it; Whoever does not live up to what he has received will  have what he does not live up to taken from him.

"I keep in mind the things you teach and try to apply what I feel would help me."

What a person teaches is not one whole, but each piece is connected to the other. It is the case that some will be more correct or more useful than others. Speaking of each piece, if what I've taught is carried by the Holy Ghost into your conscience, so that it amplifies your view of what God would do in your place, you should do much more than try, and you will be held accountable for how you respond just the same as you would if God himself personally came to you and told you. If what I have taught has not be carried by the Holy Ghost into your conscience, so that it amplifies your view of what God would in your place, you should throw it away as worse than useless.

...when a man speaketh by the power of the Holy Ghost the power of the Holy Ghost carrieth it unto the hearts of the children of men. (2 Nephi 33:1)

And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost shall be scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the word of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation. (D&C 68:4)

17 Verily I say unto you, he that is ordained of me and sent forth to preach the word of truth by the Comforter, in the Spirit of truth, doth he preach it by the Spirit of truth or some other way?
18 And if it be by some other way it is not of God.
19 And again, he that receiveth the word of truth, doth he receive it by the Spirit of truth or some other way?
20 If it be some other way it is not of God.
21 Therefore, why is it that ye cannot understand and know, that he that receiveth the word by the Spirit of truth receiveth it as it is preached by the Spirit of truth?
22 Wherefore, he that preacheth and he that receiveth, understand one another, and both are edified and rejoice together.
23 And that which doth not edify is not of God, and is darkness.
24 That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day. (D&C 50)

"Thank you and may God bless you and your loved ones."

27 And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.
28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. (Luke 11)

20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.
21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it. (Luke 8)
